Power spring used in automobile safety belt

Safety belt is equal to life belt. Everyone should see the painful accidents caused by not wearing safety belt. I believe everyone is familiar with the car safety belt. It is a safety device to avoid rushing out of the car during collision and causing death and injury. Automobile safety belt is recognized as the cheapest and most effective safety device, and it is also a necessary safety configuration.
In a typical safety belt system, the safety belt is connected with a retractor. The core component of the retractor is the reel, which is connected with one end of the safety belt. Inside the retractor, with the help of the action of the power spring, the webbing can expand and contract freely with the movement of the user’s body without loosening the webbing. In case of emergency braking, collision or sharp change of vehicle driving state, the sensitive element in the retractor will lock the reel to fix the webbing at a certain position and bear the load imposed on the webbing by the user’s body.

The power spring is made of rolled steel strip. A spring box is required to limit its outer diameter in use. The center of the spring is connected with the shaft. When an external force is applied to make the shaft rotate relative to the spring, the spring will roll on the shaft center and store torque. When the external force disappears, the spring will produce torque on the shaft or spring box.
