When combining springs, it is recommended to use the same spring for multiple installation. Compared with using two or more completely different springs to realize the load, this method is more economical and the design will be simpler. Since the force is the sum of the springs, the total force required should be evenly distributed between the number of springs used. We will discuss three different mounting methods for use with multiple springs.
1、 Back to back method
The back-to-back method uses two springs that expand in opposite directions and produce a very stable extension. The distance between the springs should be far enough to allow the spring material to bend naturally so that the component will not bind when retracted. 2、 Series method
When two or more springs are used, it is also a very common practice to install springs in series. Although this method does not have the stability of the back-to-back method, space availability usually determines the use of this design.
3、 Laminar flow method
Laminating springs together is the third option in this series. The term lamination is used to indicate that springs are intertwined, usually welded together at the outer end, inner end, or both. This method is used for relatively short extensions because if the extension is too long, the spring will bind. Use this option when many springs are required to meet the force requirements. As more springs are added, the outside diameter increases, but the overall size is much smaller than other options, including a single spring with the same force.
When the design space is limited, the above three methods can be considered. Qianye precision is specialized in manufacturing all kinds of spring springs.
