A spring motor is a pre-tensioned steel belt that is wrapped around on a torque drum, which can be unwound onto a storage drum later. The torque drum is mounted on a shaft that rotates with the drum and is connected to drive a generator. The spring force is released at a constant angular rate, thereby making a generator to produce a constant voltage output at a constant speed.
A spring motor that produces constant torque and produces the desired torque in any coil state without excessive torque when fully coiled.
Incorporating a drive system for a generator, wherein the drive system includes a spring motor coupled to the generator through a gear train such that each rotation of the spring motor drive shaft produces a number of revolutions of the generator rotor.
It is especially suitable to use in emergency kits where the batteries may die or in remote areas where generators are limited.
