Fire dampers are valves that are used to block the passage of smoke and flame from fires and meet the requirements of fire resistance stability and integrity within a certain period of time. In order to minimize the loss caused by fire, it is necessary to take effective fire and smoke prevention measures to control the spread of fire while the fire damper is ventilated. Reasonable settings in the air conditioning and smoke exhaust system play an important role.

The operation of fire dampers is simple: when the temperature of a room or space rises above a threshold limit, they close to prevent the fire from spreading. Fire dampers have fuses and can be selected according to the required temperature. Once this temperature is reached, the damper closes.

   The damper itself can be electric, pneumatic or manually set. In electrically and pneumatically actuated dampers, a fuse releases and cuts off the operating voltage of the spring-return motor, causing the spring to close the damper blades. After replacing the fuse and re-establishing the operating voltage of the motor, the fire damper opens automatically. In a spring-operated damper, a fuse release allows the spring to close the damper blade. After replacing the fuse, the fire damper must be manually reset to the open position.
