Carbon brush springs: the invisible power in motors

The Relationship Between Carbon Brushes and Motors

First, let’s briefly understand the role of carbon brushes in motors. As a key component in motors, carbon brushes are mainly responsible for transferring external current to the rotating part of the motor (such as the rotor), thereby realizing the conversion and transmission of electrical energy. This transmission process requires not only high efficiency and stability, but also good contact during long-term operation of the motor to reduce energy loss and mechanical wear.

In this context, carbon brush springs are particularly important. As part of the carbon brush system, the primary function of the carbon brush spring is to ensure that the carbon brush maintains proper contact pressure with the rotating parts (such as the commutator or commutator ring). Carbon Brush Spring Maintenance and Replacement

Although carbon brush springs play an important role in motors, they are also one of the most vulnerable parts. With increasing use, the elasticity of the spring will gradually weaken, resulting in insufficient contact pressure or failure. Therefore, regular maintenance and inspection of the motor and timely replacement of aging carbon brush springs are the key to ensuring stable operation and prolonging the life of the motor.
